For many years I have been involved with all aspects of education, from child care and development to adult and business education. I have lived and worked in the UK, the USA, Africa and the Middle East, and brought up my own family of three children. I have post-graduate degrees from Cambridge and London, and am a trained literacy tutor with experience of teaching and tutoring. Six years ago I was asked to write an educational advice column in The Independent, a UK national newspaper, and through this have been able to help readers address an enormous range of problems and dilemmas.
But people have increasingly asked for more personal help, and my wide-ranging experience, along with training as a personal coach, means I can offer a deep understanding of the issues they want to explore, along with practical, positive and forward-looking support.
People have turned to me for help with family, school and parenting issues, making transitions in their life, juggling home and work responsibilities, considering retraining and career changes, and reaching out to make more of their lives.
Personal coaching is not therapy, but it is a powerful way of finding out what you want from life and how to move towards it. It can be done by phone, e-mail or face-to-face, and it is my experience that virtually everyone who decides to invest in themselves through coaching immediately feels the benefit. This is because coaching:
gives you a space to focus on you and your life
allows you to discover why life is not working as you want it to
enables you to discover what you really want
helps you to set goals for moving towards this
allows you to identify and remove hidden beliefs that limit your aims and actions
